The
Senior Application Architect takes
the lead in defining the applications, data, and technical infrastructure,
while maintaining a strong involvement in eBusiness process design. This
position has the primary responsibility of developing, communicating,
maintaining, and enforcing the overall information systems architecture
including applications, data, and technical infrastructure. In addition,
the system architect must have an unusually large repertoire of talents
that incorporates the roles of data architect and application architect
and know how systems components fit together. Skill requirements for this
position include: Mandatory •Has a detailed knowledge of systems architecture methodology and techniques •Understands how information systems can enable the redesigned business process •Define information systems requirements •Has a thorough understanding of entity modeling and techniques •Has a thorough understanding of platform architectures and network architectures •Able to assess performance and capacity requirements and to evaluate key technologies •Has a thorough understanding of application architecture and leads the application architecture definition •Understands the interrelated architectures of the computer system, that is, the integrity of design, communications, interfaces between application subsystems, and supporting databases •Oversees the activities of the data administrator and the configuration coordinator •Has primary responsibility for all aspects of development coordination •Thoroughly understands testing and participates in test planning Desirable •Understands the general concepts of facilities design and development •Has an understanding of project management •Understands the basic disciplines of organizational change •Has abasic skill to conduct workshops and guide the participants toward consensus •Has an understanding of basic business process improvement |
